Seppuku is a Melbourne-based Thrash/Heavy/Groove Metal band, founded and formed by guitarist Denis Sudzuka in 2009. The line-up was completed in 2010, with the following members: Denis Sudzuka on lead guitar, Kris Sturni on lead vocals, Keith Hechinger on rhythm/lead guitar, Michael Truscott on bass and Macca McKinnon on drums. Seppuku’s main influences are the 80s wave of Thrash Metal acts such as: Megadeth, Testament, Slayer, Exodus, Overkill, Anthrax, Annihilator, Nuclear Assault, Mortal Sin, Sodom, Kreator and also NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) acts such as Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Saxon and Venom. Seppuku is also heavily influenced by Pantera, giving Seppuku a mixed style of Groove and Thrash Metal. With these influences, Seppuku has developed their very own signature style, with a great sense of melody, solid riffs and blazing solos. With the addition of dark, apocalyptic and political lyrics; making Seppuku a very unique sounding band. Seppuku first stepped onto the live scene in December, 2010, playing at The Espy Basement with other local metal bands. Other venues Seppuku have played are The Pelly Bar (Frankston), The Pint & Pickle (Frankston) and The Noise Bar (Brunswick), The Prague (Thornbury) and Central Club (Richmond). Seppuku have played with many local Melbourne bands, such as Invader, Mastiff, Before Black Waters, Krematorium Defiled, Jigsaw Torture, Karnage, Omen, Inebriator, Blood Union, Severed Oath, Netherealm, Elm Street, Elrazor, Maniaxe, Syndrome, Sewercide, Diprosus, Harlott, PsytonaL, Overdrive, Teramaze, Toecutter, Internal Nightmare, Orpheus and Blacklist. Seppuku supported Sydney Thrash Metal legends Mortal Sin, at Sadistic Feast Festival in April 2011. Seppuku released their five-song EP 'First Cut' in April 2011. As of July 18 2011, Seppuku's drummer Macca McKinnon announced that he was leaving the band. Macca played his last shows with Seppuku on August 19th and 20th. After a month long search, Ben Staggard joined Seppuku as the new drummer on August 28th. In February 2012, Seppuku supported Bosnian Hard Rock/Heavy Metal legends Divlje Jagode in Melbourne at The Hi-Fi on their 2012 Australian Tour. Seppuku's self-titled album is due for release in late 2012. An album launch and small local tour will follow shortly after its release. Seppuku have already finished writing their second album. A really thrashy...
A really thrashy yet catchy tune! Very good and political lyrics, mixed with some of the thrashiest riffs I have ever heard! The vocals are killer and the tone for the solo is amazing! Five stars all the way!
