When two award-winning artists from Alice Springs decided to form a songwriting group in their shed, they had no idea what it would lead to.

In a few short months, Colin Lillie and Dave Crowe formed Shadows On Blue, a new act channelling late 80's rock fused with modern electronica, and released their first single and music video "Hold On".

A self-titled EP, national tour and national airplay on triple j and triple M followed shortly after, making 2014 a huge year for the Alice Springs band. The first ever Northern Territory band to be showcased on Triple M's homegrown was just one of many acheivements in the band's first year, plus shooting a music video for 'Hold On' and grabbing a finalist spot in the NT Song of the Year awards. The bands second single "Folds" has seen triple j support and high rotation on triple j unearthed radio.

Shadows On Blue's sweeping rock/electro music is reminiscent of Future Islands, with hints of U2's epic guitar-scapes. The lyrics draw on the emotional roller-coaster of songwriters Lillie and Crowe, both from very different backgrounds, yet sharing a profound connection to the boundless Northern Territory landscape and vibrant community they call home.
