SHIVA are a Melbourne based goth/post-punk band with heavy guitars and dancey beats. SHIVA is comprised of; Jarvis (vocals, synth, drum programming), Jet (Bass, Vocals), and Sam (Guitar, SFX). Sam and Jarvis met one afternoon at Weekenderfest at the Corner Hotel, and instantly started bonding over music. Later, Jet and Jarvis met at a house party and after discovering that Jet played Bass, we agreed to keep in touch and form a band at some point. After the disbanding of Sam’s band HP and the hiatus of Jarvis’ band UZUMAKI, they decided to start jamming together. They then struck upon a spooky sound that influenced them both to start writing songs inspired by the 80's post-punk and darkwave scene. They contacted Jet, and SHIVA was concieved. Their first two songs, Seance // Candlewax, were written spontaniously in Jarvis’ basement.
