Bio

The Silent K Band are a female fronted rock outfit combining hard rock, with metal and prog overtones, and powerful melodic vocals delivering original songs.

After a couple of years finalising the lineup and working on a catalogue of original songs The Silent K Band were just about to get out and gig early in 2020 when the world got COVID-19 and went into shutdown.

Taking the opportunity to self-produce, with the band members recording individually at home during Melbourne’s long-running lockdown, they released their first song Salvation along with a compelling video to YouTube in August 2020. This anthemic hard rock track featured images of unrest and the pandemic from Australia and around the world cut with scenes of the band members recording the track in their own homes.

In October 2020 the band recorded a semi-acoustic cover of the Evanescence track Use My Voice supporting their call to Americans to be heard during the upcoming US elections. Another lockdown self-production with video this track was released to YouTube and ultimately had 4 scenes selected from thousand’s of fan videos by Evanescence to include in their 4 minute Use My Voice (Official Fan Video) released in November 2020.

During this time The Silent K Band also hooked up with Sydney artist and producer Kris Petersen to produce their first single Make A Stand. After many months of working on this track remotely together (a challenge, but the new normal) the single was successfully released on all streaming platforms in March 2021.

The easing of restrictions across Victoria in early 2021 finally saw The Silent K Band able to get out to the people and start rocking live. In just over 2 months the band had played live gigs at Musicland, Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar, The Bendigo Hotel, Aireys Inlet Music Festival and Swamplands Bar.

Plans are underway for an official single launch for Make A Stand in May (watch the band socials) as well as more tracks for an EP by the end of the year - and of course, more live gigs!
