Simon’s music is an interesting mix between inner-city edge and wide-open spaces. Torn between concrete and dirt, his music is quirky and ironic, and at times soulfully reflective and observant. Influenced by Paul Kelly, Kingfisher, Cronnix and Tracy Chapman, his sound is slightly reggae, full of syncopation, and textured with acoustic layers. It’s what walking next to your best friend and just shooting the breeze sounds like. Cinder is the title track from his upcoming EP, Swirling vocals, jangly electric guitars and a building beat to lyrics about the 2019/2020 bushfires. Simon’s played to sold out shows at The Factory Theatre, Parliament on King and Candelo Village Festival, and has just released his first EP, Cinders. His EP tells stories of Russian assassins, pill popping, sitting with friends who mourn their loss post bush fires, celebrating friendship at a tea-tree lake, and of course searching for love.
