Made WAM Song of the Year History as the only regional artist ever to win TWO categories for her tunes 'Burning' and 'Rag Doll', both off her album 'Burning'. Simone Keane grew up on Australia's east coast where she dabbled in musical theatre. One day she picked up her dusty guitar and, instead of playing the cover tunes which her music teacher taught her, penned a song. This was the beginning of a new obsession which took Keane on a lyrical journey all the way to Western Australia where pubs don't have poker machines and the live music scene is vibing. She met a bunch of musos who liked her catchy, soul-stirring tunes. She then met her co-producer Lez Karksi (Midnight Oil, the Triffids,Bondi Cigars, Yothu Yindi, Nick Cave) in Albany on WA's south coast. From there Keane released her debut EP 'Moon Tunes' in 2007.
