      Simone and the Soothsayers – Making New Mistakes Simone and the Soothsayers’ new sound is more rocky and fun than ever before with a lean-and-hungry line up of two guitars, bass and drums. The Soothsayers have been described as something of a Canberra supergroup. Though their seven-year history, the line-up has featured stalwart characters from Canberra’s indie, rock and classical music scenes. Their second album, “New Mistake”, is now available at gigs and will be released in shops through Green Distribution in spring 2006. The title reflects a dry, self-effacing humor that pervades the lyrics of the album. "C’mon Soothsayers, get it all wrong…" Rock goddess and earth mother, Simone Penkethman fronts the band with a cherry red Mistress guitar and a voice that ranges from soaring passion to world-weary disdain.
