Bio

SKIES are an emotive synth pop group from Adelaide, Australia.
When a dude dates another dudes sister, they form a band, which is what Dusty and Micah did in 2014. They recorded and released debut 'Flames' in a kind of "Fuck it lets record a song and see what happens" kinda of move. The success of this debut succeeded their expectations and thus they became a real band.
They recruited third member 'Zabba' (Michael) who was already producing great music, but is also handy on the keys and bass and began playing live shows.
They since have been playing shows steadily along side the likes of Safia, Peking Duk, Tkay Maidza, Meg Mac, The Kite String Tangle and many more and have toured Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne as well as play festival shows and sell out single launches in their hometown.

Follow up singles 'Call for My Heart' and 'Too Young' saw them blending indie and electronic music in a way that creates a sound unique to SKIES.
Everything is produced from home, everything is mixed produced and performed by the guys and Zabba's mum makes great Gnocci.

a few 2015 highlights -
SKIES became recipients of the Robert Stigwood Fellowship Program alongside Grenadiers, Timberwolf and Horror my Friend.
Played at Bigsound.
Took out 'Best New Artist' at the SA Music Awards

SKIES are...
Dusty Lee: Vocals / Guitar
Micah Cearns (My-cah Kurns): Production / Keys
Michael Zabolocki: Production / Bass / Keys
Matt Birkin: Drums

Such a perfect blend of soulful heartache and total sass on this one. I get hints of what SAFIA are doing here (and that's a compliment), once again you guys are making some sweet sweet music.

Nice vocal! And damn, those chord professions are so great and moody. Nice to hear - not often you get ones that interesting in tracks these days.

There are some nice feelgood moments within this. Melodies glide easily like honey down my throat. Looking forward to hearing more from you dudes!
