Uncompromisingly gritty and back with a vengeance, Slow Dial’s blend of crisp alternative rock brings a fresh voice to an ever-defiant late-night youth culture.
Hot off the release of their first two singles, last year saw Slow Dial’s reputation for energetic and electrifying live performances reach new heights, snagging shows with the likes of British India, Kingswood, and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers. With the events of 2020 grinding touring plans to a halt, the band were quick to adapt, booking a series of online performances culminating in a headline slot with online music festival ‘Live In Ya Lounge’ alongside fellow headliners Hands Like Houses, Kirrah Amosa, and Citizen Kay.
Fresh from the studio, Slow Dial’s first single of 2021 “You Don’t Talk Much” follows lead singer Damon through the trials and tribulations of a millennial’s night out. Behind a hard-hitting sonic façade, lead singer Damon’s lyrical vignette acutely conjures the anxiety and frustration of single life.
Drawing inspiration from Arctic Monkeys’ “Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not” alongside fellow Australian icons Rolling Blackouts C.F and The Murlocs, Slow Dial’s honest and invigorating anthems perfectly capture the grit and heart of modern alternative rock.
