Bio

Smacked Youth is a punk project from Newcastle, NSW lead by Sam D’Agostino. With a high energy set that always moves a crowd, their prior two releases “Couchbug” receiving airplay on Triple J, and “Dumb” being premiered on Home and Hosed.

2019 saw Smacked move into a newer sound and different age for the band - continuing into their own maturity and introspection. As the other members of the band moved away, Sam persisted and went into the studio recording "Dumb" which was premiered in September 2019. Sam was back recording in December to finish an upcoming EP featuring the new single “Bones” to be released in March 2020.

Smacked Youth have played shows up and down the east coast with notable acts such as Cloud Nothings, PLTS, Clowns, Pist Idiots, TOTTY, Introvert, Eat Your Heart Out and White Blanks. Also achieving a commendable 9th “Most Hit Unearthed Artist Profiles Of 2018 So Far” next to artists such as Ruby Fields, Kwame and G Flip.

A Newcastle Live spotlight article details into the band further stating “Their punk sound comes around as something fresh but inflicted with 90’s Seattle grunge vibes.”

Big stonking track from this Novo hero. How can you not be won over by those emphatic chants?

smacked youth have delivered a straight up, catchy af, anthemic rock jam here and it's hard to resist.

a more cruisey punk sound here from smacked youth which i'm really liking. you're not fanging it down a hill or getting massive air but even without the stunts the band proves here that they can still pack a punch.
