Artist:Sober Phil

For the past 18 months Sober Phil, a four piece rock outfit from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, have been trying to find their 'sound'. Tinkering with line up changes, dabbling in recording and cutting their live teeth in weekly 2 hour acoustic shows they have been able to form a tight unit and explore their expanding repertoire. From this, a new batch of songs developed, keeping elements of their straight pop rock roots and combining with it bigger guitars, catchier melodies and a new lyrical direction which has changed significantly from teen angst and young love to refreshingly honest accounts of the 20 something experience. There is an obvious intention within the new music to capture a wider audience yet it maintains a level of musical integrity and rawness, as it is clear Sober Phil refuses to be average, with each song having it's own unique attribute to set it apart from the rest.
