Singer-songwriter Sophie Head breathes rich, summery vocals into mellow tunes of life and love. Deeply inspired by cassette tapes of music written by her late father - songs of the 70s with epic 12-string guitar rhythms and provoking lyrics - Sophie embarked on her own songwriting journey, sharing her honest reflections on what it means to be human. Her song-style is inspired by the folk, jazz and classic rock favourites she was raised on and new influences including Foy Vance and Julia Jacklin. Sophie recently returned home to Adelaide after 6 years in Sydney, where she recorded and released her debut single, ‘Yours’, working with producer Jake Nauta (Playjerise) at Queens Road Studio in the Blue Mountains. She has supported Sydney artists Colleen O’Connell, J-L Rathbone and Jonah Hammond, and has received airplay on ABC Radio Eyre Peninsula, Wow FM Western Sydney, Penrith & Lower Blue Mountains and Wow FM Adelaide.
