Bio

Sophie Jones is a 23yr old Tamworth born singer/songwriter, however even though she may let some country twang slip out occasionally she is not typically a country music singer as much as an acoustic folk artist! Growing up on Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young and Joni Mitchell ensured a path down the folk trail for Soph. (Good one mum & dad) Sophie now resides in Bathurst where she has spent the past 3 years studying and just recently graduated from the Bachelor of Arts – Communication (Theatre/Media) course at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst. As part of this course (and her own musical journey) Sophie released a 5 track self-titled EP of original music with a team of Bathurst talents at the end of 2012. The EP was launched as part of Sprung festival – a student run festival showcasing the works of third year students in the theatre/media course – and was very well received. Sophie has become somewhat of a household name around the Tamworth and Bathurst areas where she performs regularly at pubs, community events, cafes and private functions. A new project she has recently embarked on is creating and running a contemporary soul choir with another musical artist – Abby Smith. This is platform for them to share their talent, passion and love for singing in a group and the benefits and joy you can receive from singing.
