Hailing from the banks of the Murrumbidgee River, the beaches of the Great Ocean Road and the hillsides of the Moonee Valley, Sordid Ordeal exploded on to the Victorian pub rock circuit in 2010, quickly developing a reputation for sweaty, unhinged bar shows and smashed guitars.

The four-piece, led by singer-songwriter Laurence Hewson and backed by guitarist Dave Wright, bassist Tim Emanuel and drummer Christian Irsh Schubert unleash a uniquely Australian sound played exclusively on Australian-built guitars combining the ferocity of an angle grinder and a V8 muscle car. They immediately captivated audiences with their Riverina accent and hard rock story-telling which lead to an early demo rocketing up the Triple J Unearthed charts.

Their 2015 ‘Regicide’ EP was well-received and played extensively across community radio stations in the West Australian goldfields, snaking its way up the Triple J Unearthed charts again as did their ‘Singing Bird Sessions‘ follow-up EP in 2018.

In January 2019 Sordid Ordeal retreated from performing live and went in to the studio for a 12 month recording stint that produced their 3rd EP and debut album, both set for release in 2020.

2020 will see the band launch their 2 new records and tour Australia before setting their sights on their first European tour.
