Bio

All-Star is the debut release from new Sydney indie-rock 6-piece South Sydney DVD, recorded with Guy Fenech of Australia (the band) in December 2016.

Bio
South Sydney DVD formed in early 2016 out of a last-minute experimental necessity to fill a gig booking made for several of the members’ previous band formation. The gamble paid off and both the 200 strong crowd and the promoters were happy. Since then the band has steadily been building an exciting repertoire of songs, with energetic live performances resting on hypnotic guitar hooks, primal drum rhythms and peculiar vocal direction.

Early reviews of the live set compare the music to the eccentric hillbilly vocal stylings Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and the complex layering of simple complimentary riffs between guitar and woodwind instruments reminiscent of early Foals releases.

South Sydney DVD are set to follow up this initial release with singles Unicorn and Back Down Where I Came From over the coming months.
