Bio

Sydney four-piece Space Monk have one goal: combine their love of tight guitar pop and wry lyricism to write songs about aliens, doritos, life and death. Having racked up supports for Hockey Dad, Goons of Doom, The Cops, Winston Surfshirt and Flowertruck, Space Monk’s live shows are an energetic affair, awash with sunbleached vocals, driving melodies and catchy indie rock hooks.

In signature Space Monk fashion, latest single Pub Lord is rich with deft guitar hooks, frontman Lachlan Body's on-point indie rock vocals, floating synth lines and a thrashing drum performance. Further building on the band's buoyant guitar-centric pop established by previous singles Dead and Chewbacca, Pub Lord is the first taste of Space Monk's forthcoming Debut EP, due for release in mid 2017.

You know when you were a kid and you got one of those rubber tops that was like a ball sliced in half, and then you turned it inside out and put it down on the table and waited for it to pop up in the air? That's what's this song is. Heaps of anticipation building toward a delightful pop.

There's something undeniably catchy about this song. It's full of energy and you can really feel it.
