Bio

"The Steptones" are a fresh, up and coming four-piece out of Canberra, Australia. Comprising of members from varying musical backgrounds, the Steppers draw on a wide range of influences and flavours. As much as The Steptones enjoy writing music and recording in the studio, they are most at home on stage delivering their dynamic live show. Patrick Ryan (vocals/guitar), Tim Douglass (guitar) and Jono Warren (drums) met at college at ANU and quickly bonded over a shared love of jamming. After a few gigs swapping around instruments to compensate for the lack of bass, the boys met Jack Schwenke, a local Canberran at the ANU School of Music and alas, the bass was found! From then on The Steptones became a solid music unit and many jams ensued. Throughout 2013 the Tones seized every opportunity to take to the stage, playing a number of shows around Canberra. Through playing live and consistently jamming they have created a unique sound and written a number of original tunes that reflect each members unique musical background and tastes. Drawing from a wide range of genres, The Steptones offer an accessible sound grounded in solid musicianship, all wrapped together with Pat's silky vocals. With 2 singles on iTunes, an EP release in May, and a spot at GTM Canberra 2014, The Steptones hope to be sharing their musical experience with listeners abroad before too long.
