About

The Stoics are an indie rock band. They make all kinds of music and do all kinds of things. They formed in a small town called Launceston, where they were often cheered for, and sometimes violently attacked. Despite the horrors and joys of their home state, they packed up their sunny dispositions and moved to Melbourne in 2011 for the release of their debut album. Their first bedroom recordings were released on Triple J unearthed in 2007. They were then chosen to play at one of Triple J’s Awol concerts and join that years Next Crop of the nation’s most promising unsigned artists. This radio exposure was the catalyst for three independently released EP’s and now, the release of their debut album later this year. They’ve played some of the best festivals around: Falls Festival, St Kilda Festival, MS Fest, MONA FOMA , Forest Festival. Plus a score of shows throughout Australia. They’re no strangers to support shows: The New Pornographers, Yves Klien Blue, Bluejuice, Claire Bowditch, ...
