Strange Talk is a Melbourne band that came about in February this year. We have been writing an EP and plan to have it out later this year. If you are in Melbourne, we have started playing some live shows so check out our myspace or facebook, drop us a line and come along to a show. Would love to see you there.
Brand spanking new band in the vein of Phoenix. Touring with Jinja Safari later this year.
Tell us about your music – how did you develop your songs?
I guess, as a band, we have strong and varied musical backgrounds from classical music to dance music, and the song "Climbing Walls" reflects that. It has been an exciting six months, and we are just really happy to see people getting into our music. Inspiration wise, we draw from our record collections, and all of the incredible local and international music getting created and toured around Australia.
Tell us what we should expect at at Strange Talk live show.
It's still early days, only played 3 shows!!! Haha. But, things have been going well, and we have been getting some really strong reviews which is encouraging. We are playing with Jinja Safari for their East Coast tour, which is going to be great fun, totally love that band.
What were you all doing before starting the band?
Generally, just working for the man so to speak...Just pretty boring jobs. In regards to music, we have always been making tunes and just playing with friends.
What’s coming up in the future?
An EP towards the end of the year hopefully. Beyond that lot's of touring. Really keen to see if we can get our way on to a festival or two... We love getting out the studio and playing our songs live.
Australian music is?
Fun, parties, and festivals. Australian acts like The Presets, Temper Trap, Jinja Safari, and INXS make great tunes and know how to play a killer live set and I guess that's where we're aiming to get to...View Profile Hide Interview
