In mid-2018, following a three-year hiatus from solo performance, Suami Amabel became the frontwoman and songwriter of Sydney indie/folk/rock band Naked Strangers, who launched their debut single ‘Honey Roast’ at their sold-out Redfern launch party in early 2019.
From the accumulation of experiences over the past few years, Amabel explores a clean slate of solo writing, allowing fresh creativity to blossom and take its forms, whilst continuing to pursue a career with Naked Strangers.
After releasing her debut single ‘White Wash’ at a sold-out launch show in March of 2020, Amabel has returned to the studio to complete her next release.
Through her music, Amabel reaches for a place of comfort within solitude, similar to that of her youth spent between the mountains and coastlines of southern New South Wales.
Amabel’s powerful lyrical poetry, paired with her guttural and soaring vocals delivers with a honey sweetness that carries deep into the chest.
