About
THE SUN AND THE SKY is a 4-piece indie synth rock band formed in Adelaide in January 2011. Attitude Magazine described them as "the rock'n'roll version of The Presets". Music blogger Spoz says their live show vibe is “a cocaine dance party in a trench coat”. Comprised of brothers Tim Pearce (Vox, Synth), Sam Pearce (Guitar), Simon Pearce (Drums) and housemate Justin Pounsett (Bass, Vox), they write catchy yet dark- edged pop tunes, with influences from New Order, U2, Placebo, Nine Inch Nails, Interpol and The Killers. Live, the vibe is intense – a kind of brooding high energy of synth and guitars, with plenty of 4 on the floor – but the lyrics leave you feeling like things might just turn out okay after all. Although still relatively new on the live scene THE SUN AND THE SKY have already supported the likes of New Navy (Syd), Strange Talk (Melb), World’s End Press (Melb), We Are Fans (Melb), Kingswood (Melb), Boy In A Box (Melb), The Killgirls (Adel) and Messrs (Adel).
