Bio

HARLEQUIN EP OUT NOW!

Started as a small passion project by five housemates from the Sunshine Coast, The Sundowners are quickly finding their stride in the quirk-rock revival. Inspired by wholesome lo-fi DIY success stories such as the Strokes "This Is It" and "Music from Big Pink" (The Band), the group has adopted a fierce DIY attitude towards writing and production, with their debut "Harlequin EP" being recorded and mixed entirely within the confines of their shared lounge room in Buddina, QLD.

Live, the band delivers an authentic, homegrown energy. Frontman Lachy Wilder cites live performances by Vulfpeck and The California Honeydrops as his biggest inspiration. "Seeing how these bands can just snap their fingers and have 1000 strangers dancing with each other in an instant just completely changed the way I thought about what a live show is meant to be. If we can capture even 10% of that wholesomeness per show then mission complete baby."

Yeah this is a real good time for your ears. It's got zip and punch in plentiful supply.
