Bio

Australia’s finest politically charged punk rock trio SUPER BEST FRIENDS are back with their long awaited debut full length LP, ‘Status Updates’, out Friday March 20 via Gun Fever.

Following the viral success of their ‘Round & Round’ single that featured our most famous politicians dancing foolishly on TV screens globally, ‘Status Updates’ features 11 blistering new tracks.

Heavy guitars, huge drums and snarling vocals are the order of the day, captured perfectly by producer Tom Larkin (Bodyjar, High Tension, Closure In Moscow) at The Studios In The City, Melbourne.

Culturally aware lyrics and memorable melodies are balanced in accordance with sentiments of introspection, anger, ambition and the fury held by the thinking youth of Australia, with just the right dose of classic Besties humour.

This album is an important and confrontational musical snapshot of modern social and political values in 2015. Super Best Fans got their first taste of 'Status Updates' late last year with the anti-party anthem ‘Out Tonight’ and can now chew on the tasty new single ‘Dog Whistling’.

To celebrate the release of ‘Status Updates’, Super Best Friends will be taking their head and heart pounding live show on the road. Catch ‘em live at a dive near you.

A vitriolic dose of political punk rock. It's good to have some new Besties blasting in the speakers.

This is urgent, punchy and fun. Crazy idea but you should totally make a film clip where you get heaps of politicians singing the lyrics and trying to act.
