Surfin’ Bird are, frontman and lead shredder Jhindu Lawrie, tub-slammer Andy Thomson and bass-rattler Bronson Diamond. They’re old school rockers who united as housemates and friends to create a brand new sound, melded from the music they grew up with and continue to love; a rough and dirty mix of the blues, surf punk, pub rock and old time rock and roll. Originally from the top end of Queensland, they packed it up and headed south to call Brisbane home at the turn of the decade, paying their dues in the city’s thriving live music scene ever since. They’ve shared stages with some of the most eminent young Australian acts including Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays, Drunk Mums, Velociraptor and The Belligerents and the boys are now intent on bringing their sound to a national audience with the release of their debut EP in early 2016. Stay tuned for more Surfin’ Bird brand-spankers in the very near future!
