Bio

Formed in 2002 (after Kirsty needed something to fill the void in her Carlton share-house without her dog Turnip), the group sing about friendship, love and their favourite snack foods. Very reflective of their lives, their music is always honest and sometimes poignant with numerous flashes of utter silliness. Surrogate Turnip have performed in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane, including a number of performances at the 2004 Woodford Folk Festival. They have enjoyed sharing the bill with acts such as Frente, Tripod, Gersey, The Lucksmiths, The Salteens, The Guild League, Gorgeous, The Miller's Tale and The Boat People.
