With Arts SA grant funding Susan completed her second album, “Free Spirited” in SA with Anthony Stewart (The Sherrahs). The album was released March 9th during Adelaide Fringe 2018. The first single from the album, “MUSICAL JOURNEY”, spent 6 weeks in the Australian top 40 peaking at #13. It also reached #1 in the UK on a country music station, Spectrum Radio Pettswood, which earned Susan a berth in the 2018 Hall Of Fame.
Her second single “TOUGH AS GERANIUM”, an ode to Port Adelaide, and the geraniums that grow there was written for the Semaphore Songs Project in 2015. It reached a peak of #19 on the national charts and #3 on the Tasmanian Top 30. This song is currently a finalist in the Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards 2019.
Susan released “FEELING LOVE” in late September where it headed into the national charts to #25. It peaked at #14 in the Tasmanian top 30 and is currently still charting, now in it’s 6th week. “Feeling Love” was a semi-finalist in the TSA Awards 2019.
Tracks from the album have been played both locally, across Australia, and over the world. Locally, “Free Spirited” was included in Three D Radio’s top20+1 new release chart (peaking at #6) and is now in the Australia Day weekend top 100+1 on the same station.
