Bio

Swick is Melbourne’s own well shaken can of bubbly fizzy drink. With an arsenal of releases on labels such as Mad Decent, Fools Gold, NLV Records, Nice Age, Main Course, Enchufada, Secret Songs, Nest HQ and more. The young producer has quickly gained a reputation for tight drums, energetic synths and catchy vocal chops. His collaborative work has been particularly successful, working with the likes of Diplo, Major Lazer, Tkay Maidza, Spank Rock, Nina Las Vegas, Douster, Henrik The Artist and more.

In 2013 he released a collaborative EP with Diplo titled ‘Keep it Gully’ on Mad Decent, with the b-side ‘Dat A Freak’ becoming the basis for Jennifer Lopez’s latest single ‘Booty’ which features Iggy Azalea & Pitbull. His extensive work with Tkay Maidza was featured across six cuts on her mixtape at the tail end of 2014, and their track ‘Wishes’ (also with Lewis Cancut) came out on Ryan Hemsworth’s ‘Secret Songs’ label. Full Court from Swick’s USB Club Trax EP which came out on Main Course received lots of DJ love most notably from A-Trak, Rustie, RL Grime, Baauer and Djemba Djemba. While 2015 has already seen Swick release a collaboration with Jillionaire of Major Lazer, a two track solo EP titled ‘Crystal Palace’ on Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs new label 'Nice Age’ and a collab EP called 'Cool Sports’ with Nina Las Vegas on Fool’s Gold.

Diplo states 'Swick’s vibe is always a bit more broken liquid and thats how he keeps that 4x4 uptempo fresh and bangin’. While T.E.E.D says 'I get a buzz from Swick’s music, it feels a million miles a way from the too often conservative current house and techno sound in Europe at the moment’. Both his DJ sets and tracks pull inspiration from a wide range of different musical styles. Swick has no care for genre but respect for all at the same time. His sound draws inspiration from the euphoria of football stadiums, the stealth of internet hackers, fresh fruit, computer games, soda cans and worldwide styles to create his own special unique sound.

There are a lot artists operating in this space right now, but with Tkay and Capo, Swick is bringing a real point of difference and merging a lot of worlds together.
