Bio

Tak-Un-Da was born in Zimbabwe but left the nation shortly, making his way into South Africa then moving to Australia. Primarily residing in the ACT when not on tour.
There is no doubting that an abstract upbringing has heavily influenced not only the content of his productions, but the way he performs. Tak-Un-Da’s accent is neither here nor there, the way he raps brings to mind a cross-between Pusha T and Kendrick Lamar; developed through steady consumption of hip-hop. His lyrical presence is enforced by his eclectic style, put together through exposure to a legion of different cultures.

Tak-Un-Da’s performance at FASHFEST 2015, showcased this artistry and his passion for performing being labeled as a “visionary and an inventor” by Her Canberra. Which was but a drop in the ocean as in 2016 he joined the likes of Chvches, San Sisco Basenji and Ed Fisher at HyperNova and illustrating that the second coming of Yeezus may be nigh.
Tak-Un-Da dropped has been dropping hit singles across the board from 2015 into 2016, with notable favourites like “Got Next” which is currently on rotation on Triple J unearthed.

Throughout 2015 he worked on hidden library of beats and verses in preparing for his upcoming as-of-yet-untitled debut record, while dropping well received singles like Toxic and Boyfriend, which push the fold of creativity switching the scene up, coupled with Sammy Sosa who delivers his cardinal skills as a beat-maker onto the record means the sky is the limit for these roofless villains.

Watch the rise.
