Australian musicians are an esoteric bunch. It_s rare these days that you'll find a band that hasn't been affected by the pressures exerted upon them by our tight-knit, colloquial music industry. It bends bands to its will, creating strangely nerdy, inward thinking drones and green-energy obsessed, carbon-neutral hippies. It's rare that you come across a band in Sydney that have international appeal, let alone an inherent sense of style or credibility. Talons are the exception. You won_t see them swigging Jack Daniels on stage and aping ACDC riffs. Nor will you find them playing acoustic sets at sustainable-energy festivals or promoting free-love and electro-rock party-vibes. Instead Talons invoke a period where Aussie music was dangerous, credible and stylish. The first time you see Talons play it's like walking into the firing-line of a tommy gun.
