Bio

Tamara and the Dreams is the dazzling four piece indie pop project of quirky internet-dwelling 22-year-old Tamara Reichman. Candid reflections on youth, identity and the self are filtered through bittersweet guitar songs that can be both abrasive and whimsical. Armed with the superpower of cutting to the core of youthful idealism and angst, and conjuring instantly relatable, catchy pop, Tamara & the Dreams explores what it means to be young and alive.

‘FUNNY!’ is a statement about the downfall of our generation to sarcasm, irony and meme culture. When we build our identities around being ‘funny’ all of the time, we often end up hiding our true selves. I learnt this lesson during a close friendship where my frustration at my friend being constantly deadpan and ironic allowed me to look in the mirror at my own habits of using humour as a shield.

Recorded in a bedroom, debut single LO-FI was premiered on Triple J, added to Spotify’s Chords and Cardigans playlist and Apple Music’s A List Alternative and official Indie playlists. LO-FI charted at #2 on AMRAP metro charts with airplay on PBS, 3RRR, Fbi, 4ZZZ SYNfm and RTR, after the band sold out an electrifying single launch at The Gasometer.

Personal yet universal, second single ’P1NK SUNGL4SSES’ is a frenetic dream pop banger about selfies, self perception, and being insecure on the internet that will get stuck in your head and tug on your heart.

Fresh from supporting an endless list of indie favourites and friends including The Beths, Gabriella Cohen, Moaning Lisa, Cry Club, Eliza and the Delusionals, Egoism, and Fritz, “Tamara & The Dreams showcase an undeniable prowess for songwriting and clever lyricism” - The Music.au

This is a jangly pop record of the highest order. Loved the bridge but the key change absolutely sent me. If you follow Tamara on twitter then you won't be at all surprised to hear this acerbic, clever lyricism on her records.
