Tanya has grown up listening to the likes of Etta James, Billie Holiday, Ray charles and many more amazing soul artists.
Whilst this shines through in her vocals, her sound relates more to artists of the likes of The Jezabels and Florence & the machine.
Tanya's exuberant sound is sung with incredible emotion and hooks that will be stuck in your head for days on end and with a 6 piece band behind her, the soundscape that is created can take you away from reality and into a world she creates with her music. In her short time as an artist releasing music, young Melbourne songstress Tanya Batt has had quite a pronounced impact for someone so fresh.
With her unique, strong and hauntingly beautiful soothing voice, complemented by ethereal, uplifting and at times melancholy music; you can well justify what the tastemakers are stirring about. She quickly entered the industry with a bang, garnering much deserved attention from Australia and around the world. Tanya received airplay on England’s BBC Radio 1 with Presenter Ollie Winiberg making an incredibly bold statement claiming he believes she is “Better than Florence and The Machine.” Back home, the release of her second single ‘Atlas’ (collaboration with Melbourne’s Hayden Calnin) pricked up the ears within the Triple J offices and has received airplay since on various programs and also on Unearthed Radio, Triple R, SYN and many other community/college radio stations.
As well as a lot of radio attention around the world, Tanya has been added to in store rotation in Typo outlets worldwide and Well-respected Singer/Songwriter Clare Bowditch has also added Tanya in all international and domestic Qantas and Jetstar flights.
In the words of Clare Bowditch - “Keep listening out for that one”.

It's hard n...
It's hard not to mention Florence when talking about this song, but still, I'm totally down with the vibe of this song. The arrangements are great too.
