Bio

TAPES emerged onto the Melbourne music scene in early 2018 projecting a widescreen vision of Neo-Soul, R&B, and Contemporary Pop. The signature feel-good sound permeates through every facet of the band. From their live stage performances which feature explosive and funky bombast, to their studio records boasting soulful innocence and are a toast to their blossoming beginnings.

It was last year, with the release of their single Higher, that we were first introduced to their sultry Neo-soul sounds. The band ooze out an irresistible blend of sounds that feel simultaneously laid-back and energetic.

TAPES navigate myriad sonic territories—they never sit in one place for too long. One moment you’ll be moving your body to infectious grooves, and the next you’ll be floating through woozy soul. By the time the track reaches its conclusion, you’ll have been roped in completely to their immersive, sultry sounds.

This adds a little more soul and groove than you'd expect from a song about the 9-5 slog. I reckon if TAPES were your coworkers the office would sound pretty great. Productivity might be down a bit but morale would be well up.
