Artist:Tessa & the Typecast

Hailing from Ballarat but now Melbourne based, Tessa & The Typecast have fast become one of the most talked about groups in town, and are enjoying having the industry buzzing as people struggle to find enough superlatives for them. Upon the release of their single ‘Painter’ in late 2010, they were immediately picked up by Triple J and XFM in London. Selling out two single launches, the band then signed a one off single deal with General Pants to release ‘Painter’ on their Major Label. Taking a break over summer as front woman Tessa went to New York City to complete new recordings; they reconvened back in Melbourne after they were personally selected by Kate Nash to support her on her recent Australian tour. A residency in March at the Grace Darling Hotel in Melbourne saw the venue sell out every night.
