Bio
These Winter Nights write overwhelmingly beautiful songs. The Perth based alt-folk band have spent the better part of six years curating a sound that raises goose bumps and a live performance that is nothing short of captivating.
Built upon the songwriting of front man Lucas Jones, the Perth favourites have an innate musicality that is evident in their effortless delivery. The five piece thrive off the audience’s reaction to their music and endeavour to write cinematic songs that capture the listener, creating a sense of intense anticipation.
These Winter Nights have taken their time between song releases, but a focus on writing and recording has resulted in a stunning catalogue of bittersweet songs that reflect moments of heartbreak, remorse and renewal. Their latest offering, Who Was I, is the first track off the band's upcoming EP and a perfect distillation of their atmospheric sound.
Review
these winter nights are powerhouse live performers and this song balances pained tenderness with big, swelling moments.

Lucas has a voice that reminds me of Tim from Cub Sport, but tonally deeper - I feel like he could quite easily sing anything and it would mean everything to you as you listen to him do his thing! Such an awesome band and tune, I love a good piano in a track, and solid musicianship and these guys have talent in bundles.

This gets my feet twitching to run with that driving Mumford and Sons beat.
