Thyrsday is Sydney’s newest answer to indie-folk with a palpably vintage affinity. Originating from a collective restless night, lurking around Gumtree, to finally forging late-night connections with strangers, this saga could have easily been the premise of a B-grade horror flick. Instead, (and fortuitously so), this is how the emerging four-piece band came to be. Retreating to the Central Coast paradise of Forgotten Valley Music Studios, upcoming debut single 'Skin' was recorded and produced by the acclaimed Scott Horscroft (Silverchair, Birds of Tokyo, The Presets). 'Skin' has already caused ripples in its wake, landing itself as a finalist, and the band as a commended artist in the 2013 Musicoz - Australian Independent Music Awards. Drawing from Joni Mitchell’s melodic storytelling, a touch of the Billie-Holiday-blues, and an understated Nancy Sinatra bravado, Thyrsday delivers a brand of folk, uniquely sullen and charmingly potent.
