After visiting the abandoned property of an old cult in the hills, the energy of the house connected with where Tia felt emotionally at that time. The song is essentially about feeling trapped and then moving on and is another slice of Australian Gothic from the singer. Incorporating original audio snippets of the actual children of the cult, The Lodge explores the emotions born of isolation and disempowerement through the lens of Oz folklore.
