Ben Martin formed TidalBridge in mid-2006 with Luke Warden, bashing out tunes and working on original material. They draw on a wide range of influences from Van Morrison to John Fruscianti; Counting Crows to U2. Ben found Colin Corner still in his shell and busting for chance to bring some of his John Deacan and Jack Sparrow influences to the people. Playing in a simple format of guitar, bass & vocal the boys dedicate much time to crafting alternative pop songs. Ben’s percussive style of playing provides much of the beat for Colin’s understaded Bass playing, yet highlights in the sweet melodies through his flat picking style. Luke calls upon his choral background to weave the melody into the song rather than standing out in front of it. Although the band has room to expand and develop, they have proven through Port Macquarie’s local music scene that they can deliver an energetic and engaging live set.
