From two friends sharing ideas with one another and exploring some new concepts and styles, Tiles was formed with a passion to find something new and exciting for its members Matt Schultz and Katie Pomery. Tiles’ recordings begin as simple instrumental demos constructed in Matt’s home studio and are brought to life with the addition of Katie’s melody and lyrics, encapsulating the energy Matt is leaning into with the instrumentation. Taking inspiration from artists such as Snail Mail, Jay Som and Soccer Mommy, the songs are tirelessly fleshed out over time, resulting in a layered and textured dream pop wash.
