Just a couple o' guys from Perth, WA that make funny sounds. Tim (18) & Jean (15) started jamming one night.....and ever since that holy night of great occasion, have not turned back since.
Tim & Jean first came on our radar when they entered (and became finalists) of Unearthed High, now we've chosen to unleash their awesome synth pop stylings to the Perth Parklife audience!
Tell us about your music – how did you develop your sound?
The sound that is Tim & Jean, is something that was never anticipated by either of us. We'd both originally been in bands of completely contrasting genres, but we still shared the same vast taste in music. After being friends for a couple of years on a chance meeting, we decided to 'hang-out' resulting in the fusion of both of our musical tastes. Both of us wanted to create something different to the genres that we were previously comfortable with. We took our dominant influences and moulded it into a sound that we wanted to hear. Thus creating an 80’s-esque, synth-pop sound with an undercurrent indie pop influence.
What can the Parklife festival audience expect from your live gig?
We don’t think the Parklife audience will know what to expect from us seeing as it is our first live performance. Although people may have their preconceived conceptions on what we will be like, we have a bunch of new stuff that hopefully people will want to groove to! Just a heads up, we’ll be throwing in a Tim & Jean spin on an old time classic to the set :O
Who are you looking most forward to see at Parklife?
Both of us would love to check out all the bands on the lineup this year, but for us the topper would have to be METRIC. “Oh maaannnn, Emily Haines!”
What’s coming up in the future?
Hopefully we will recording and releasing an EP by the end of this year so that’s pretty exciting for us…. & just working on and maintaining our live shows.
