Bowen bears an honest mind when he picks up his guitar. His catchy folk melodies and heartfelt lyrics fuse flawlessly to create music with a rawness and intimacy rarely encountered. Having taught himself to play guitar at the age of 15, his music has
taken him the world over, winning hearts and minds along the way. Straight out of high school, he began studying Jazz at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Here, a spark became a flame. Introduced to the musicians who would become his band members, they began packing out music venues across the state including Sydney’s FBi Social, The Basement and Hibernian House multiple times. In recent years, writing stints to the US, Ireland, Italy, Spain, France & the UK have instilled further depth, confidence and maturity in his songwriting. Bowen has had over 80,000 views on YouTube, been featured on major music and social forums including Triple J’s Home and Hosed, Timber & Steel and Perez Hilton, appeared on Channel 7’s X Factor backing vocal group Mahogany, and performed repeatedly for the annual Martin Place Daffodil Day Fundraiser, run by the Cancer Council in Sydney. In 2013, Bowen released his self-titled debut EP to a sold out crowd at Sydney’s Hibernian House. After spending close to 8 months writing, preparing and recording the release, Bowen’s EP was made possible through an overwhelmingly successful crowd-funding campaign via the Pozible initiative. More than $6,500 was raised through beautifully generous fans, enabling the additional manufacture of limited edition vinyls to commemorate the first release, the artwork of which was created by Bowen himself. Over the last 3 years, writing trips between Sydney, L.A., Nashville and Atlanta have brought about unimaginable songwriting collaborations and cafe style performances with artists such as Lucy Schwartz (Nashville, Grey’s Anatomy, Twilight), Clare Bowen (Nashville; TV Series), Steph Jones aka Ruby O'Dell (Cole Plante), Robert Shirey Kelly, Elizabeth Huett (Taylor Swift), Cassidy Ford (Young Guns Publishing), Ashley Campbell (Victoria’s Ghost) and Hudson Moore (Endeavor Entertainment, Fusion Music) generating a great deal of excitement and interest in the local industry. Armed with fresh ideas, exciting new ventures and brand new music, Bowen is set to release his second EP, coming July 2014. With a voice that radiates truth, Timothy will be bringing his music to fresh and
familiar ears over the next few months. Come find him at a show. There’s no better way to start a fire.
