“Urban Tales from a Folk Heart”...

Toby Robinson is a Melbourne folk / indie pop singer/songwriter. A native of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, with a childhood steeped in the music of the finger picking greats of folk, Toby learned guitar at his father’s knee. From busking as a kid at Eumundi markets to playing in bands with his brother throughout his teens, music is the constant in his life.

Toby was a founding member of The Promises, whose highly regarded self titled debut ep was played regularly on Triple J, PBS, RRR, and ABC radio nationwide. Toby has toured and appeared in festivals across Australia, co‐writing and playing alongside the likes of Jen Cloher, Missy Higgins and Jordie Lane and supporting acts including Neko Case, Archie Roach, Mark Seymour, Eddie Reader and Toni Childs.

Toby is currently touring off his second release, ‘Live Your Life’, which is a single off his soon to be released EP. Live Your Life is his first new music following on from the debut self titled album which was released in July 2015. Featured on the album is the single ‘Let You Down’ which received national airplay on Triple J, PBS, ABC Coast FM (Gold & Sunshine Coast) and ABC Local Radio Network (60+ stations).

Also on the album is a track called 'Night Calls', which was featured in the 2015 New York Fashion Week. The event had an attendance of over 200,000 people and received great worldwide exposure.

Toby’s debut self titled album and second single 'Live Your Life', was produced by Nick Huggins (Whitley, Seagull, Oscar + Martin, Laura Imbruglia, Genevieve Bailey) at A Pocket Full of Stones studios in Pt Lonsdale and mastered by Precise Mastering (Primal Scream, The Human League, James Blake, De La Soul) in London.
