Tom Hogan lives and works on Gadigal land, Sydney. His music often takes cues from literature and other storytelling traditions, recasting lost narratives to find new truths. In his latest offering from his upcoming EP "Or The Whale", he presents guitar-based tracks that riff on Elvis Costello, early PJ Harvey, and Moby Dick. These are songs with a literary bent, where buoyant vocals and bright, confident hooks are offset by a melancholic grain. Previously, Hogan has released several ambient noise records, which arose from deep listening encounters with other musicians.

Known for his charismatic and mercurial live performances, Hogan is also an acclaimed theatremaker, podcast producer and composer whose work has been featured in galleries and art festivals around the world. He is the creator of the music podcasts Polish Club’s Sophomore Slump, Missing Richard Mercer, Obscure Music History, and co-creator of the shows Love Song Dedications (without Richard Mercer) with Bonnie Leigh-Dodds, Tamagotchi Reset & Other Doomsdays and The Epic with Finn O'Branagáin, and the musical Mount Hopeless with Elana Stone.
