      “These guys could be really onto something” – Drum Media It’s a regular reaction to a Trace show. A combination of excitement and a distinct feeling that something else is creeping up on you that you can’t quite put your finger on. Some songs that react immediately in the guts. Then there are the songs for the head, although familiar (see Something for Kate, Powderfinger, U2) the song craft breaks away from party rock and roll. Beginning in 2004, Trace endured name changes and a line up shuffle and are settling in with a unique sound of early 90’s influenced rock with the tinge of blues that songwriters like Jeff Buckley and Sound garden wore proudly. Lee Bancroft on lead guitar isn’t afraid of his effects rack and paints liberally with a style that reminisces U2’s early days and the psychedelia of Pink Floyd.
