Taking up poetry at the age of 13 (which resulted in freestyling and rapping at the age of 15) Trooth’s teenage years was rife with the negative and darker aspects of life. Deciding that he did not want to live in this way, Trooth moved to Melbourne in 2001 which helped pave the way for the honest rapper and saw him study acting. At the same time he met Trumpnotics, an LA native who was based in the city. As a producer Trumpnotics took the wide-eyed rapper under his wing and taught him that there was more to hip hop than just what is projected into homes through the media – there was a whole other aspect to the culture.
