Bio

'Lose You' is the debut single under moniker Tru'.

Tru' gives preference to working with female identifying and non- binary individuals on her artist projects. She is a part of New Age Noise Collective which is an artist led label and booking agency for female identifying and non-binary individuals from Western Sydney.

"Lose You is about the fear losing someone, but it's also about the impatience of waiting for something to happen, and not wanting it to slip away before you've grabbed it..."

It all began at my friend and collaborator Clarissa Mei's home studio, we were initially just hanging out and then we ended up making 'Lose You'.

She worked with friend, Antonia Gauci (Kesha, DMA's, Lil Yachty) on the mixing of 'Lose You' as well as Becki Whitton on mastering. She also shot the artwork and press photos with She Is Aphrodite (The 1975, Vera Blue, Mallrat) who has been a friend and mentor to her throughout her career.

Tru' has performed at events hosted by THE PLOT/Cattleyard, Girls Rock, New Age Noise Collective & The Art Gallery of New South Wales as well as alongside musicians such as Lupa J, Okin Osan, Georgia Marley, Rainbow Chan, Jake Howden, DROVES, Bec Sandridge and many more.

Previously in 2018 Tru' released her collaboration EP with Perth based dreamscape producer and friend, Wulfe. The EP premiered on Sydney's FBi Radio and the title track 'Make Believe' scored high rotation on FBi Radio and rotation on Triple J Unearthed radio.

Both singles 'Make Believe' and 'Wasted Hearts' have been synced on popular ABC Comedy/ABC TV/ iView series Halal Gurls Season 1, which premiered in 2019.

"Tru' is the love child of True Romance era Charli XCX and Grimes" - POPHRT

'Plucked straight from your Nintendo dreams.' - PURPLE SNEAKERS

"My Sydney mate Sara Tamim [Tru'] is one of the most talented, bright sparks I’ve ever met...Sara wrote a topline and some lyrics over an expansive, gorgeous instrumental – and it just works." - NIC KELLY (PROJECT U)

There's something a little off about your vocals and it's actually what makes them so interesting. You pull it off in the same way that FKA Twigs' vocals always feel a little uncomfortable and discordant too. A solid foot forward for Tru'

Something a little primal about the way this production comes together, built around such sparse lyrics. One for the late nights.
