Bio

“A unique blend of post-punk and dream pop with 90s guitar lines”

- Harvey Rae, X-Press Magazine

After the launch of their debut single, “Horror Movie”, Perth band Turtle Bay Television are preparing to release their debut EP, Rest Well In Your Shell on November 10th. The EP will appeal to fans of “Horror Movie”, whilst also providing tender examinations of anxiety, love and desperation.

The EP was recorded and mixed by synthesiser player, Jeremy Segal (Segue Safari) and mastered by Perth music scene stalwart Michael Jelinek (Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Hamjam).

Turtle Bay’s sound is a culmination of various influences including Alternative Rock, Dream Pop, Shoegaze, Lo-Fi and Horror movies, leading to a sound somewhere between Sonic Youth, the Pixies, The National and Vampire Weekend.

Turtle Bay have existed in various incarnations since 2012 but have settled on a consistent line up in the past few years, with the recent addition of sax player, Tom Beech, to bolden their sound. After finding their feet in the local scene, Turtle Bay have gone on to share the stage with various local heroes, including Felicity Groom, Ziggy Ramo, Tired Lion, Demon Days and Ryan Beno.

A launch party will be held on Thursday the 16th of November at The Bird in Northbridge with special guests, Segue Safari, ABACAXUVA and Web Rumours (Em Burrows). Doors 8pm. Tickets $5 on the door. EPs available at buyer nominated price. Hand printed T-shirts.
