About

The Unravelling are a three-piece band formed in Byron Bay in 2006 and now based in Sydney. The Unravelling do not fit easily into any contemporary genre. They are most commonly referred as an electro act, but the band prefer to describe their music as "new wave". The band fuses the sound of the "new wave" bands of the late 70s and early 80s, such as Human League, New Order, Blondie, Depeche Mode, Ultravox and The Cure, with more modern influences as diverse as Linkin Park and The Presets. The Unravelling blend evocative melodies and electro beats with jazz-tinged harmonic structures, catchy hooks and Celtic lyricism. Their debut album will be released in early 2010.
