Bio

Vacations are the local sweethearts of Newcastle, their take on guitar pop music has won over a devoted fanbase in their hometown, and overseas. A part of the No-Fi music/arts scene in Newcastle, Vacations are no strangers to wild house parties, packed out rooms, and nation-wide tours where they've earned their stripes performing live. This has lead them to support bands like Hockey Dad, Skegss, Dappled Cities, The Gooch Palms, and play festivals like Mountain Sounds.

With the release of their latest EP, Vibes, Vacations has expanded beyond expectation compared to most emerging bands. Well received by national press, (IOHYOU/sneaker.tv) a successful tour around Australia, and radio airplay (FBi Radio/Triple J Unearthed) isn't unusual for bands on the rise. Vacations go further though and set themselves apart with their immense overseas reception done completely on a DIY basis thanks to the internet. An American fan uploaded the EP to YouTube where it gained over 120,000 views in three months, this led them to join Human Sounds Records, a label based in Atlanta who issued a tape run of Vibes + Days (1st EP) selling out almost instantly with a 2nd run in production. These kind of stats aren't unusual to Vacations on Spotify either with 400,000 streams and rising. All of this has seen their merchandise regularly shipped out to the USA, UK, (and of course, Australia) with people asking when they'll come over to tour.

Vacations show no signs of slowing down anytime soon, and with new material on the way, including a debut album, it's early days in this young band's career.
