Bio

Valer (Valerian McCaskill) is an Indonesian-born electronic producer who has been hooked on music production software since the age of 12. Now 24, Valer has begun to release his collection of finely aged works.

Drawing from a wide range of experiences from living in Indonesian villages, rural Australia and Melbourne, Valer aims to create musical textures that are true to his roots while blending elements of the burgeoning Melbourne house scene.

Acid Stag:
"‘Time to Let Go’ moves through in a fastened tempo alongside a vibrant array of instrumentation and percussion that transfers the contagious groove, right before the piece takes full flight in the latter stages with an emphatic shift in intensity that shatters the piece to the core."

Surviving the Golden Age:
"With effervescent and shimmering synths over a shuffling house beat, the song is a heavenly slice of progressive house mixed with elements of synth-pop, chill wave, and electro."

Really drawn to the drama and glimmer at the start and then how you naturally move into a whole new space. I really loved that gradual process and those deep house influences are a vibe.
