After meeting through an advert in Brisbane street press, Kate Joseph and Paul Winters started a group with the hope of creating a new style of music. The pairing of a female singer-songwriter and an electronic producer was always going to yield interesting results. The two are an excellent example of opposites working together in harmony. Their music can best be described as vocal-orientated indie-electronica. The songs are built around the vocals and piano, with electronic beats and synthesizers being used to orchestrate. The influences are wide and varied, but some of the more noticeable are Lamb, Decoder Ring and Massive Attack. Paul believes that it is the range of influences and the different ways that they approach music that makes them unique: "We really approach music from completely different angles," mentions Paul. "We really complement each others' style very well."
